Facebook Allowed Netflix, Spotify, And A Bank To Read And Delete Users’ Private Messages…
December 18, 2018
Facebook gave more than 150 companies, including Microsoft, Netflix, Spotify, Amazon, and Yahoo, unprecedented access to users’ personal data, according to a New York Times report published Tuesday.
The Times obtained hundreds of pages of Facebook documents which were generated in 2017 that show that the social network considered these companies business partners and effectively exempted them from its privacy rules.
Facebook allowed Microsoft’s search engine Bing to see the names of nearly all users’ friends without their consent, let Spotify, Netflix, and the Royal Bank of Canada read, write, and delete users’ private messages, and see participants on a thread, allowed Amazon to get users’ names and contact information through their friends, and let Yahoo view streams of friends’ posts “as recently as this summer” despite publicly claiming it had stopped sharing such information a year ago, the report said. Collectively, applications made by these technology companies sought the data of hundreds of millions of people a month.

Astronomers discover a star so massive that its forming a tiny star around it rather than planets…
December 18, 2018
Binary stars are pretty common in the universe, and it’s thought that they form the same way single stars do: from a massive cloud of dust and gas that collapses under its own gravity. If the molecular cloud is large enough, it can birth two similar-sized stars instead of one.
And since binary pairs are easily detectable, astronomers from the University of Leeds were rather surprised when they observed MM 1a. Homing in on the seemingly single star, they found an unexpected, much smaller companion star lurking in the outskirts of its dense disk — the region of dust and gas where planets typically form.

"Officer Rivas then accused Mr. Elsharkawi of hiding something because of his request for an attorney."
Well he won this. Good for him.
Important point of note here that everyone should realize. Requesting an attorney, while it may seem polite and respectful, is NOT invoking your right to an attorney. You don't have to ask for an attorney, you assert your right to one.
I invoke my right to remain silent. I invoke my right to an attorney. I will not answer any questions without my attorney present.
Even then, they will try to trick you. "we're not asking questions, we're just having a casual conversation.
I invoke my right to remain silent. I invoke my right to an attorney. I will not answer any questions without my attorney present.
You must clearly assert your rights, and then shut up. That's it.
Trump signs order to create US Space Command…
Read The Memorandum...
December 18, 2018
President Donald Trump launched the Pentagon’s new Space Command on Tuesday, an effort to better organize and advance the military’s vast operations in space that could cost as much as $800 million over the next five years.
Trump signed a one-page memorandum Tuesday authorizing the Department of Defense to create the new command.
The goal is to set up a command to oversee and organize space operations, accelerate technical advances and find more effective ways to defend U.S. assets in space, including the vast constellations of satellites that American forces rely on for navigation, communications and surveillance. The move comes amid growing concerns that China and Russia are working on ways to disrupt, disable or even destroy U.S. satellites.
