CBP Officers Uncover 395 Pounds of Meth Stashed Inside Artificial Decorative Rocks…
February 5, 2019
At approximately 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 1, CBP officers encountered the 66-year-old Mexican citizen as he entered the port of entry driving a Freightliner tractor and towing a trailer containing a manifested shipment of decorative rocks. During a preliminary inspection, a CBP canine alerted to the conveyance, and officers referred the driver for further screening through the port’s X-ray imaging system.
CBP officers reviewed the X-ray scans and detected anomalies inside cavities within the artificial rocks. Officers offloaded the shipment, searched the hollow areas in the rocks, and ultimately discovered 120 wrapped packages of methamphetamine concealed inside.
Once removed, the methamphetamine yielded a total weight of 395 pounds, with an estimated street value of $1.1 million.

Denver will vote on whether to legalize ‘magic mushrooms’…
February 5, 2019
Denver voters will decide in May whether to decriminalize so-called magic mushrooms containing the hallucinogenic drug psilocybin (sy-loh-SY'-bin).
KMGH-TV reported Friday that city elections officials determined that proponents gathered enough valid petition signatures to put the proposal on the May 7 municipal election ballot.
If it passes, it's believed Denver would be the first U.S. city to decriminalize the drug.
However, it would still be illegal under federal law. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency classifies psilocybin in the same category as heroin and LSD.Roger Stone’s lawyer offers proof CNN is in bed with FBI…

The letter was produced by Mr. Stone's lawyer, Grant Smith, who sent it to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.

The proof that CNN was tipped off by an official within the FBI investigation to Roger Stone's pending indictment and home raid is evident in the damning omission that comes on the final page of the letter:...
[...]
The implication that an FBI official is leaking information to control CNN's coverage of the federal agency's activities could lead to another criminal investigation of its own people and be enough to ruin the current two-year probe.Read the letter by clicking above. It's really damning.

February 5, 2019
A Pennsylvania appeals court is denying Jerry Sandusky’s request for a new trial but is ordering him to be resentenced for a 45-count child sexual abuse conviction.
Superior Court on Tuesday said Sandusky was improperly sentenced using mandatory minimums.
The 75-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach was sentenced in 2012 to 30 to 60 years in state prison for sexual abuse of 10 boys.
Researchers one step closer to growing made-to-order human kidneys
February 5, 2019
...researchers have been working on ways to grow healthy organs outside the human body. One such method, called blastocyst complementation, has already produced promising results. Researchers take blastocysts, the clusters of cells formed several days after egg fertilization, from mutant animals missing specific organs and inject them with stem cells from a normal donor, not necessarily of the same species. The stem cells then differentiate to form the entire missing organ in the resulting animal. The new organ retains the characteristics of the original stem cell donor, and can thus potentially be used in transplantation therapy.
[...]
In summary, the chronic global shortage of donor kidneys leaves many end-stage renal disease patients reliant on continued dialysis treatment. To address the donor kidney shortage, a team led by researchers at the National Institute for Physiological Sciences in Japan attempted to grow mouse kidneys inside rats using transplanted stem cells. The resulting kidneys appeared to be functional, providing proof-of-concept validation that this approach could be used to generate human kidneys inside livestock.Caravan Migrants Make a Dash for Unfenced Texas Border…
February 5, 2019
A small group of Central American caravan migrants jumped out of government-provided buses in the Mexican border city of Piedras Negras and made a dash for Eagle Pass, Texas.
Video published by the Eagle Pass News Leader reveals the moment when a group of migrants purportedly from the caravan were turning themselves in to U.S. Border Patrol agents immediately after crossing the river.
On the Mexican side, the majority of the migrants went to a temporary shelter where they will have to wait to be admitted into the U.S. through a port of entry. However, the migrants grew restless overnight and began having brief altercations with local police officers around the shelter. The possibility of a larger conflict and having his police outnumbered by 1,700 migrants led to Piedras Negras Mayor Claudio Mario Bres to request the help of federal authorities to deal with crowd control.

STEVE BANNQN Invades Latin America…
February 5, 2019
The former White House chief strategist is crafting new alliances in Brazil. ‘I’m very proud to join Steve Bannon as the leader of The Movement in Brazil, representing Latin American nations. We will work with him to reclaim sovereignty from progressive globalist elitist forces and expand common sense nationalism for all citizens of Latin America,’ announced Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of Brazil’s president, on Saturday.
[...]
Bannon’s incision south of the Rio Grande comes as Washington turns its attention to the region – relatively neglected in recents as the United States became embroiled in the Middle East – with a renewed focus.
[...]
And for Bannon, these are happier days. President Donald Trump, strikingly, publicly praised his former aide this weekend for the first time since his political excommunication last year. Speaking to The New York Times, Trump lamented Bannon’s involvement with gossip auteur Michael Wolff, but added: ‘And yet, Bannon, now, if you’ve seen him on an interview over the last six months, I think there’s nobody that speaks better. It’s a crazy situation.’Presidential Message in Celebration of the Lunar New Year…

Experts hated this Trump health-care policy. So far, they’re wrong.
February 5, 2019
One analysis found that the plans offer benefits similar to those in most employer insurance and they haven’t attempted to circumvent Labor Department regulations forbidding them to discriminate against consumers with preexisting conditions. Another analysis examining Land O’ Lakes, a farmer-owned cooperative, found that the plan covered all of the ACA’s essential health benefits with substantially lower premiums than on the individual market.
Meanwhile, the Congressional Budget Office released a report Thursday that predicted coverage gains as a result of the new rule, in conjunction with another rule from the administration that makes it easier for consumers to buy short-term health insurance. (Such short-term plans were also, perhaps more legitimately, criticized for offering “junk” plans.) The CBO projects that, as a result of these two rules, an estimated 5 million people will enroll in either a short-term plan or an association health plan every year over the next decade, including more than 1 million people annually who were previously uninsured. The CBO states that most of the movement (around three-quarters) will be due to association health plans.
Florida Repeal of medical pot smoking ban clears first hurdle, but not without a fight…
February 5, 2019
St. Petersburg Sen. Jeff Brandes’ closely watched bill that would repeal a ban on smoking medical marijuana nearly died in a Florida Senate committee hearing on Monday.
But after the vote tied and was then reconsidered, it cleared its first hurdle Monday with a tight 6-4 vote.
The Senate Health Policy Committee passed SB 182, which in addition to legalizing smoking medical marijuana also deletes a provision that prohibits a medical marijuana treatment center from selling products like pipes, bongs or rolling papers and also specifies that medical marijuana cannot be smoked in public on any form of public transportation or in a school bus, car, plane or motorboat.
