Amazon is taking on QVC with the launch of Amazon Live, which features live-streamed video shows from Amazon talent as well as those from brands that broadcast their own live streams through a new app, Amazon Live Creator. On the live shows, hosts talk about and demonstrate products available for sale on Amazon, much like they do on QVC. Beneath that sits a carousel where shoppers can browse product details and make purchases.
More than one video streams on Amazon Live at the same time, so shoppers can tune to the one that most interests them.
The company said in a news release that work on the assembly and stamping plants will begin in March and is expected to be completed by spring.
The expansion will result in 500 new full-time jobs, bringing total employment at the factories on the city's southeast side to 5,800.
The $1 billion will go toward a new body shop, a new paint shop, the installation of 3D printed tools at the assembly plant and new stamping lines at the other plant. The money also covers $40 million in workplace improvements, such as new lighting and cafeteria updates.
The Orlando Sentinel reports the bombs began falling in the Ocala National Forest Monday. The bombing by Jacksonville’s Naval Air Station jets at the Pinecastle Range Complex will continue through Thursday.
Live bombs are scheduled to be dropped each day from 9 to 11 a.m. The naval station says jets also are expected to be in the area in the afternoon and evenings with “intert bombings.” The range complex is about 2 miles west of the Camp Ocala campgrounds and near several hiking trails.

Former Europol top cop and Swedish police superintendent Patrik Engström [pictured above, left] made the warning when he said the Border Police that he commands did not have enough resources to adequately patrol the 102 border crossings and ports nationwide. A Swedish newspaper has claimed the nation is short of 500 border officers to do the job adequately, but Engström declined to discuss specific numbers, Sweden Radio reports.
In an order on Friday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said it will revisit whether Hawaii acted lawfully in denying the plaintiff George Young a permit to openly carry a loaded gun.
Circuit Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain wrote for a 2-1 majority last July 24 that “we do not take lightly the problem of gun violence, which the State of Hawaii has understandably sought to fight,” but that the state nevertheless violated Young’s rights.
Friday’s order means an 11-judge appeals court panel will rehear the case. A hearing has yet to be scheduled.
What are we seeing here?
This video uses a pretty cool label free, live imaging technique to image mouse T-cells killing mouse tumor cells. Cells were imaged for over 6 hours at a frequency of 1 image every 20 seconds.
Why is this a major frontier in medicine?
It is a major frontier, because the past few years have seen a major resurgence in interest in reprogramming T-cells to kill cancer cells. TCRs represent a way of targeting intracellular peptides through TCR-pMHC interactions. So tumor-specific, intracellular proteins can be recognized by T-cells if you design the right TCR. We are already seeing the first hints that this might actually work in the clinic.
Currently, abortions in the state are banned after 24 weeks unless the woman’s life is in danger due to the pregnancy or, if the pregnancy would pose a “grave impairment of her physical or mental health.” The bill, known as the Remove Obstacles and Expand Abortion Access Act (ROE Act), would get rid of the “grave impairment” language so that an abortion could take place after 24 weeks if the pregnancy risks “her physical or mental health, or in cases of lethal fetal anomalies, or where the fetus is incompatible with sustained life outside the womb.”
Earlier this month, the Georgetown student government authorized a campus-wide student referendum that will ask students to establish a fund for the descendants of these 272 slaves. If the referendum passes, a fee would be collected each semester, starting in the fall of 2020.
The semesterly fee proposed is $27.20 per student “in honor of the 272 people sold by Georgetown,” according to the student government resolution approving the referendum, obtained by the College Fix.
Group members indicated that buses and trucks dropped them off throughout the night on Mexico’s Federal Highway 2 that parallels the U.S. border less than 50 yards from this area. Once the entire group arrived, they crossed together at 8:00 a.m. to await authorities.
The group consisted of individuals and family units from Central America and included nearly 150 juveniles, 32 of whom were unaccompanied.
Trained Department of Homeland Security medical staff, to include a physician, responded to screen the group. Two juveniles, a 5-year-old with possible chicken pox, and a 12-year-old with a skin infection, were sent to a local hospital for treatment while the remaining persons began immigration processing.
They show Schiff meeting at the event with Fusion GPS Founder Glenn Simpson, one of the key and most controversial figures in the Russia collusion scandal. Both men insisted to me through spokesmen that they met only briefly last July.
At the time of the encounter, Simpson was an important witness in the House Intelligence Committee probe who had given sworn testimony about alleged, but still unproven, collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign.
