The United States will surpass Saudi Arabia later this year in exports of oil, natural gas liquids and petroleum products, like gasoline, according to energy research firm Rystad Energy.
That milestone, driven by the transformative shale boom, would make the United States the world's leading exporter of oil and liquids. That has never happened since Saudi Arabia began selling oil overseas in the 1950s, Rystad said in a report Thursday. "It's nothing short of remarkable," said Ryan Fitzmaurice, energy strategist at Rabobank. "Ten years ago, no one thought it could happen."

Under the formula, countries would pay the full cost of stationing American troops on their territory, plus 50 percent more, said US and foreign officials familiar with the idea, which could have allies contributing five times what they provide.
Trump calls the formula “cost plus 50,” and it has struck fear in the hearts of US allies who view it as extortionate.
U.S. regulators on Friday gave the green light to salmon genetically modified to grow about twice as fast as normal, but the company behind it may face legal challenges before the fish can be sold domestically.
Predictably, leftists were triggered by Gates’ tweet. Why? The data reveals the lifesaving, wealth-creating ability of capitalism. It wasn’t socialism that eradicated poverty worldwide; it was free trade and free markets – and they did so in record time. Obviously, such “hate facts” cannot be allowed to stand uncontested by the empathy exploitation industry folk, who thrive on ignorance and misconceptions. Anthropologist Dr. Jason Hickel took the bait and came out with an article in The Guardian, titled “Bill Gates says poverty is decreasing. He couldn’t be more wrong.” Rather than showing an unprecedented rise in global wealth, he claims the infographic shows “the story of coerced global proletarianization.” That’s Marxist speak for people needing to work for a living.
