April 1, 2019
“I know Bill Barr pretty well, and he’s pretty upset about the way all this was handled,” he said, although the senator added that he could not speak for Barr.
“I don’t know if he’s going to have a special prosecutor to look at the probability of criminal misbehavior,” Graham said. “I’m going to look at what happened from an oversight role. But I hope there’s a special counsel appointed to look at DOJ corruption and political bias, you know? Because Mueller did his job against Trump.”

In a much-awaited moment that heralded the approach of a new chapter in Japan’s history, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga announced Monday that the new Imperial era will be named Reiwa, in one of the final steps toward initiating the nation’s first Imperial succession in three decades.
Holding up a placard that displayed the kanji characters for the new era, Suga said the name was formulated based on a poem from “Manyoshu,” the oldest existing compilation of Japanese poetry.
The first character represents “good fortune,” while the second can be translated as “peace” or “harmony.”
Akihito, 85, is the first Japanese monarch to step down in more than 200 years. As his reign ends so does his era, known as Heisei.
The reign of each emperor is accompanied by a name for his term in power, and the era’s name becomes an important part of everyday life in Japan, as it is used to indicate the date on all official documents.
Some are arguing that the meaning behind the word is "the harmony of war not peace", while others say it means "peace through strength". It seems no one really knows what this means. No news story yet offers any true insight. We must wait for the proper translation of the prime minister's speech. It will take some time to translate appropriately as the meaning of the name of new era is in the context of one of the ancient Japanese poems.

-CNNNadler's committee will also vote on whether to issue subpoenas for five former White House staffers; Steve Bannon, Hope Hicks, Reince Priebus, Don McGahn and Ann Donaldson - who Nadler claims may have received documents from the White House connected to the Mueller probe that would waive executive privilege.

Paleontologists have found a fossil site in North Dakota that contains animals and plants killed and buried within an hour of the meteor impact that killed the dinosaurs 66 million years ago. This is the richest K-T boundary site ever found, incorporating insects, fish, mammals, dinosaurs and plants living at the end of the Cretaceous, mixed with tektites and rock created and scattered by the impact. The find shows that dinosaurs survived until the impact.
