SB 7030, is an extension of the guardian program put in place after the Feb. 14, 2018, Parkland massacre in which 17 high school students and staff were killed. That program allowed some employees — but not classroom teachers — to receive weapons training and then carry guns on school property. Twenty-five of 67 Florida school districts are taking part in the program, including Lake and Broward counties. The new law signed by DeSantis would allow classroom teachers to take part, too, with local school board authorization.

The ATF said in a statement that its agents searched the home after discovering an individual illegally selling firearms “outside the scope of the federal firearm license that the individual possess.” The federal agency added: “ATF and LAPD have no reason to believe the public is in any danger.”

The ransomware attack on the Baltimore City Hall took place on Tuesday morning and infected the city's technology systems with an unknown ransomware virus, which according to government officials, is apparently spreading throughout their network. According to new Baltimore Mayor Bernard C. Jack Young, Baltimore City's critical public safety systems, such as 911, 311, emergency medical services and the fire department, are operational and not affected by the ransomware attack.

The 2018 hearing concerned an unsuccessful lawsuit from CNN seeking copies of former FBI Director James Comey’s memos about his interactions with Trump. CNN published a transcript of that hearing Tuesday after the Justice Department, under a court order, was forced to provide the transcript to the cable network. CNN previously cited unnamed sources in saying then-acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe opened the obstruction investigation after Comey was fired and before Mueller was appointed. McCabe later said in an interview he launched the probe at that point. The court filing provides additional confirmation of that timeline.
