The University of Toledo physicist pushing the performance of solar cells to levels never before reached made a significant breakthrough in the chemical formula and process to make the new material.
Working in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Lab and the University of Colorado, Dr. Yanfa Yan, UToledo professor of physics, envisions the ultra-high efficiency material called a tandem perovskite solar cell will be ready to debut in full-sized solar panels in the consumer market in the near future.

Construction workers in Spain were pleasantly surprised to discover amazing treasures while digging a ditch. They unearthed 1,300 pounds (approx. 590 kg) of ancient Roman coins in 19 big antique jugs dating back to around the 3rd to 4th century A.D... Most coins that were discovered were mostly bronze, but about less than 4 percent might be silver.

The bill will make the punishment for performing abortions up to 99 years or life in prison, although the woman who received one will not be subject to a felony charge... Although the Alabama State House voted to pass the bill last month, 74-3, Democratic lawmakers pressed Tuesday, unsuccessfully, for amendments that would create exceptions in instances of rape and incest.

The castle was found in the North Sinai province, Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities said in a Facebook post. The government agency said that they were able to find the North-East Corner Tower and the remains of the South-East Corner Tower, as well as the extension of the south wall. The castle was dated to the Psamtik era, which ran from 664 to 610 B.C... "The mud brick-constructed castle that belonged to the 26th dynasty is the oldest historically," Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said in the post.

Gov. Kay Ivey announced today that Japan-based DaikyoNishikawa US plans to invest $110 million to open an auto parts manufacturing facility in Huntsville to serve the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA assembly plant now under construction. The company, called DNUS for short, will create approximately 380 jobs at the new Alabama facility, which will produce plastic automotive parts.

Serge Fournier initially survived the fall but later died of his injuries at a hospital on April 21... In the video, a suspect is seen pushing Fournier with both hands down the front steps of the bus. Fournier, holding his walker, falls flat on his face, hitting his head on the sidewalk. Bishop, who was reportedly yelling and swearing at others on the bus, allegedly pushed Fournier after he asked her to be nicer to other passengers.
