US makes formal extradition request to Britain for Julian Assange of WikiLeaks…

A grand jury investigation of Assange has remained active in recent weeks. Sigurdur Thordarson, a former WikiLeaks associate who became an FBI informant, says he voluntarily met with prosecutors in Virginia late last month and was asked detailed questions about Assange’s relationships with hackers. A June 12 hearing is set for Assange in the United Kingdom.
UPDATE: It seems WikiLeaks on Twitter has informed everyone that the hearing has moved to June 14 - this Friday.
The first substantive US extradition hearing, previously planned for 12 June has now been moved to 14 June. The hearing will be in Belmarsh Magistrates’ Court.

Additionally, the DOJ announced that the probe, let by Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham, was looking into the involvement of "foreign intelligence services"... The information was contained in a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., who had inquired as to the scope of Durham's investigation.

US Customs and Border Protection says traveler, license plate images exposed in cyberattack…

The federal agency did not name the subcontractor whose computer network was hacked but the announcement followed news that a Tennessee-based company that bills itself as the sole provider of stationary license plate readers at U.S. borders had been compromised.
A Customs spokesman said initial reports indicated that the images involved fewer than 100,000 people; photographs were taken of travelers in vehicles entering and exiting the United States through a few specific lanes at a single land-border port of entry over 1 1/2 months. No other identifying information was included with the images
