...the couple claims that they raised alarm early on in the pregnancy after they were told they were carrying twin boys, as they had only unfrozen two female embryos. But Dr. Joshua Berger and Simon Hong, co-owners of CHA Fertility Center, allegedly told the couple that the sonogram was “not a definitive test,” with Berger reportedly relaying a similar story involving his own wife to the expectant parents, The New York Post reported. The couple claims they were assured that they were expecting twin girls throughout the pregnancy. But on March 31, 2019, A.P gave birth to twin boys via cesarean section. Immediately, A.P and Y.Z. realized that the boys did not share their Asian ethnicity. A genetic test conducted by CHA Fertility Center personnel who flew to New York after the birth reportedly confirmed that the boys were not genetically related...

... in what has been described as a "workaround" after failed efforts by House Democrats to get the president's federal returns. Previously, state tax returns had to remain private with an exception for law enforcement. The new bill -- which could face a legal challenge in the future -- adds an exception that says the state’s Commissioner of the Department of Taxation and Finance has to turn over information requested by the head of the House Ways and Means Committee, Senate Finance Committee, or Joint Committee on Taxation.
Steyer, an environmentalist who's spent billions in ad dollars and other efforts to urge the impeachment of President Trump, told staffers last week he plans to formally launch his 2020 campaign Tuesday, three people familiar with his plans told Politico. Steyer would become the twenty-sixth Democrat competing for the party’s nomination to take on Trump.
Trump said Ambassador Kim Darroch had "not served the UK well" and that he and his administration were "not big fans" of the envoy. Darroch had said Trump's presidency could "crash and burn" and "end in disgrace", according to a cache of secret cables and briefing notes sent back to Britain seen by the Mail on Sunday newspaper.
Trump told reporters... "We are not big fans of that man and he has not served the UK well. So I can understand it, and I can say things about him but I won't bother."
The UK foreign ministry said it would carry out a formal investigation into the leak...
After failing to pass gun control legislation, Democratic lawmakers and the governor admit they've lost the battle this year. It helps explain why Sunday's gun rights rally on the steps of Legislative Hall on the last day of this year's session looked more like a picnic than a protest...
Gov. John Carney, despite originally supporting the proposed bans to certain guns and magazines, has since shifted his stance... On the final day of the session, as the rally continued outside his office window, Carney called the failure of the this year's gun control bills a disappointment.
He still points to last year's gun control bills that he says have been successful. He's particularly proud of "red flag" laws that let police temporarily seize firearms from someone who could be a potential danger to themselves or others...
"I was like a minor wizard because he would be casting spells, and I would see people mesmerized, but because I'm a minor wizard, the spells don't work on me," said Gates, the world's second-richest person.
While it's really easy to imitate the bad parts of Steve, Gates said, "I have yet to meet any person who in terms of picking talent, hyper-motivating that talent," who could match him. "He brought some incredibly positive things along with that toughness."...
Thousands of facial-recognition requests, internal documents and emails over the past five years, obtained through public-records requests by researchers with Georgetown Law’s Center on Privacy and Technology and provided to The Washington Post, reveal that federal investigators have turned state departments of motor vehicles databases into the bedrock of an unprecedented surveillance infrastructure. Police have long had access to fingerprints, DNA and other “biometric data” taken from criminal suspects. But the DMV records contain the photos of a vast majority of a state’s residents, most of whom have never been charged with a crime.
The latest Harvard/Harris poll finds that 51 percent of American voters say they support mass deportations of the 11 million to 22 million illegal aliens living in the U.S. should Congress fail to reach a deal that closes loopholes in the asylum system. More than 8-in-10 Republican voters, as well as more than 5-in-10 swing voters, said President Trump should carry out mass deportations of illegal aliens following Congressional inaction. Nearly 9-in-10 Trump supporters said the same. Working and middle class Americans, those earning $75,000 a year or less, support mass deportation... by a majority of 53 percent.

Moran had been vetted for promotion to the top uniformed position in the Navy, nominated by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the Senate in May to succeed Admiral John Richardson as chief of naval operations and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
But Moran said in a written statement on Sunday evening, US time, that he had turned down the offer to appoint him, and requested to be allowed to retire.
Spencer said in a statement that Moran had maintained a professional relationship with an individual who was held accountable and counselled for failing to meet the values and standards of the Naval profession.
He did not spell out details, but other officials said Spencer was referring to Moran having recently taken public affairs counsel from Chris Servello, who was removed from his position as a navy public affairs adviser in 2017 and given a non-punitive letter of reprimand for drinking and fraternising with junior officers during and after a December 2016 Navy Christmas party...
The US citizens were among three people gored Sunday during the opening run in this year’s San Fermin festival in Pamplona, where bulls tear through the streets as hundreds of people race to get out of the way.
The most seriously injured appeared to be an unidentified 46-year old man from San Francisco who was gored in the neck while in the bullring, at the end of the 850-meter course. He was undergoing surgery, the regional government reported.
A 23-year old man from Florence, Kentucky, was gored in the thigh, as was a 40-year-old Spanish man, officials said. Two young Spanish men were also taken to hospital with head injuries, officials said.
