Man acquitted of 36 deaths in Oakland’s Ghost Ship fire; hung jury on the Lease Holder Derick Almena…
From Daily Mail back in 2016: Inside the 'cultish' world of the Oakland inferno warehouse organizer as tenants tell of mind control, threats of violence and 'bloody rituals' at the 'collective'...
September 5, 2019
Max Harris was acquitted and Derick Almena's case ended in a hung jury... Prosecutors alleged Almena, the leaseholder, and Harris, who helped collect rent and acted as creative director for the art collective housed at the 10,000-square-foot facility, were responsible for the deaths resulting from the blaze... the jury was 10-2 in favor of conviction but could not break the deadlock...
Almena, 49, and Harris, 29, allowed more than two dozen people to live in the dilapidated building, stacked large quantities of flammable materials from floor to ceiling and deceived officials and building owners... They also held music parties there. The fire came during one such event -- an electronic dance party on December 2, 2016. Three dozen people died because they could not escape the building. One of the warehouse's exits had been blocked, and the building was missing important safety features, such as fire alarms, marked exits and sprinklers, according to authorities. The defendants' attorneys countered that arsonists set the fire, which their clients could not have prevented, and they presented a witness who testified she heard a group of between 14 and 19 men congratulating themselves on starting the blaze,

Private payroll growth way above Wall Street estimates …
September 5, 2019
Company payrolls surged by 195,000 in August, well above Wall Street estimates and at a time when fears have been growing about a looming recession, according to a report Thursday from ADP and Moody's Analytics. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for a gain of just 140,000 following July's 142,000, which was reduced downward by 14,000 from the original count. August's growth was the best showing since the 255,000 added in April... Fully 100,000 of the new jobs came in the education and health services (58,000) and leisure and hospitality industries (42,000). Health care and social assistance was the fastest-growing sub-component, with 45,000 positions added.

September 5, 2019
Pruitt also named her former record label, Hollywood Records, as well as its parent company, the Walt Disney Co., in her court filing, alleging that the entities failed to prevent the abuse she says she endured, Variety reported. The suit claims Hollywood Records and Disney knew or should have been aware that Thomas was a sexual abuser, and alleges that Pruitt was obligated to work with Thomas while he served as her mentor and producer. The suit also claims Thomas was permitted to be unsupervised while he worked with Pruitt, even though she was underage.
Bernie Sanders Floats Global Population Control at CNN Climate Town Hall…
September 5, 2019
“Human population growth has more than doubled in the last 50 years,” an attendee told Sanders, adding that the planet cannot sustain such growth. “I realize this is a poisonous topic for politicians but it’s crucial to face. Empowering women and educating everyone on the need to curb population growth seems a reasonable campaign to enact,” the attendee continued. “Would you be courageous enough to discuss this issue and make it a key feature of a plan to address climate catastrophe?” she asked.
“The answer is yes,” Sanders said, arguing that population control – in the form of abortion and birth control, specifically – is something he “very, very strongly” supports.
In reality, it is said that in the future we are going to have a population collapse - as Elon Musk mentioned in his debate with Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. Chairman Jack Ma:
What is the means of sustainability? Immigration? If we take all the top brass from other countries, then these countries will collapse.
The only other option is to increase our birth rates and overhaul our education system.

Jussie Smollett lawyers: Even if actor faked attack, it was cops’ call to investigate it so vigorously…
September 5, 2019
... late Tuesday night, his attorneys filed a motion responding to the city’s claim that he should pay the city more than $130,000 to cover police overtime and other costs... “My client from the beginning has maintained his innocence and disputed the city’s allegations,” said William J. Quinlan, of The Quinlan Law Firm, who filed the motion. He noted that “it’s going to be very difficult for the city to prevail in making a case my client should pay for overtime for a case ultimately dismissed by the state’s attorney... But the latest court filing contends even if Smollett did make a false report, there is no way the city can assert he would have known the city would investigate — and investigate it to the extent cops did.
In Court Hearing, Planned Parenthood Employee Admits To Trafficking In Baby Body Parts…
September 5, 2019
The nine-day hearing is the first time Planned Parenthood leaders and affiliates have publicly gathered and testified in court since Daleiden’s Center for Medical Progress published 11 undercover videos featuring Planned Parenthood leaders discussing—and in some videos displaying—the harvesting and selling of aborted fetal organs and tissues. Daleiden and his colleague Sandra Merritt face 14 criminal felony counts of eavesdropping and one count of conspiracy. The case marks the first time charges of eavesdropping have ever been made in California. During this hearing the judge will determine if there is probable cause Daleiden and Merritt committed a crime, and if so, will schedule a date for trial. Separately, the hearing for the civil case against Daleiden and Merritt will be held Sept. 30...
“Planned Parenthood abortion providers appeared under oath in court today and admitted supplying the body parts of children in the womb to for-profit brokers like StemExpress,” Daleiden said Tuesday. “Meanwhile, the vice president of the National Abortion Federation denied any knowledge of the gruesome trafficking of fetal body parts, despite hosting StemExpress as a major vendor at the trade shows. The first day of testimony confirmed what we have been saying all along: this is a biased attack on First Amendment civil rights and a political prosecution to shield Planned Parenthood from accountability for their crimes against women and children.”

September 5, 2019
The effect has to do with one of the strange and counterintuitive aspects of modern physics, the fact that virtually all fundamental physical phenomena are time-invariant. That means that the details of the way particles and forces interact can run either forward or backward in time, and a movie of how the events unfold can be run in either direction, so there's no way to tell which is the real version. But a few exotic phenomena violate this time symmetry...

September 5, 2019
The White House has had the proposals for two weeks, according to the source, but has not yet sent anything along to Capitol Hill. It was not immediately clear what proposals are included in the DOJ package. President Trump has signaled a willingness to at least consider new measures – while insisting he will also defend Second Amendment rights. Meanwhile, Democratic presidential candidates have gone so far as to urge mandatory gun buyback programs and other far-reaching measures.
Keith Raniere’s defense lawyer now wants to be a prosecutor…
September 5, 2019
The US Attorney’s Office revealed in a letter to Brooklyn federal Judge Nicholas Garaufis on Wednesday that attorney Teny Geragos has applied for a job with the US Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, and called for a hearing to determine if there is a conflict of interest... In their letter, prosecutors said that, because Geragos — who currently works at Manhattan firm Brafman & Associates — was not the lead lawyer on Raniere’s case, the chances of her making any decisions that would give an advantage to her would-be new employers is “remote.” But they nevertheless requested a hearing to advise Raniere on the potential conflict.

Erdogan: We’ll Flood Europe With Syrian Refugees Unless ‘Safe Zone’ Established…
September 5, 2019
Ankara is currently in tense negotiations with the United States over Erdogan's plan to militarily carve out a large swathe of territory along the Turkish-Syrian border which would serve as a buffer zone of sorts where US-backed Kurdish militias could not operate. Erdogan said one million refugees could settle in the new buffer territory, thus alleviating the crisis on Turkish soil, and ultimately for Europe as well.

Campaign staffer drops lawsuit accusing Trump of pay discrimination, forcible kissing…
September 5, 2019
Former Trump campaign staffer Alva Johnson told The Daily Beast she is dropping her lawsuit accusing President Trump of pay discrimination and non-consensually kissing her, telling the publication that she concedes it would have little chance of success. “I’m fighting against a person with unlimited resources, and repeatedly the judicial system has failed to find fault in his behavior,” Johnson told the publication on Wednesday. “That’s a huge mountain to climb.” When she filed the lawsuit in February, Johnson claimed Trump grabbed her and attempted to kiss her on the lips in an RV during a Tampa event during the 2016 campaign.
In case you missed it, here's the clip that Trump's lawyers released of the interaction in question:
