new analysis of Neolithic farmers’ dental plaque suggests milk has been a staple in humans’ diets since at least 6,000 Years Ago…
September 12, 2019
According to Atlas Obscura’s Anne Ewbank, Charlton and her colleagues tested ten sets of teeth unearthed at three Neolithic sites across southern England: Hambledon Hill, Hazleton North and Banbury Lane. Using mass spectrometry analysis, the team identified peptides from the beta lactoglobulin protein in seven of these individuals’ calcified plaque. Although the exact type of milk consumed at each settlement remains unclear, certain peptides points toward Hambledon Hill’s predilection for goat milk and Hazelton North’s preference for cow or sheep milk. According to the study, however, zooarchaeological evidence recovered at the sites remains “most consistent” with cattle milk.

The first such interstellar object ever detected – the mysterious and controversial cigar-shaped space rock 'Oumuamua – zoomed through our Solar System in 2017.

September 12, 2019
The National Emergency Management Agency became aware of the oil spill as soon as it was able to fly over Grand Bahama... Evan Cartwright, an architect with the Bahamas Ministry of Works, told the Miami Herald Friday that the oil from the facility had made its way into the area’s drinking water supply... During the daily briefing Wednesday, officials said water supply remains limited...
Smith said the 2,500 people on a government registry for the missing had not been checked against government records of people staying in shelters or evacuated. At least 5,500 people, Smith said, had been evacuated to Nassau, where officials were adding additional tents to accommodate evacuees. He said the list could decrease as they reunite family members and as individuals who evacuated from Abaco and Grand Bahama register with social services.Chinese Mar-a-Lago Intruder Found Guilty……
September 12, 2019
A jury found a Chinese businesswoman guilty of lying to the Secret Service to sneak into President Trump's Mar-a-Lago club. Yujing Zhang represented herself at trial and claimed during opening statements she did nothing wrong... Zhang now faces up to six years in prison on charges of unlawful entry of restricted buildings and making false statements... Authorities said they found Zhang in possession of a number of cell phones, USB drives, a thumb drive believed to be full of malware, and a signal detector to check for hidden cameras. While Zhang was not charged with being a spy, the judge granted a prosecution request to seal certain case materials, because of national security concerns. She did make a very brief closing argument, saying she did nothing wrong and did not lie. But jurors did not buy it.
