... the AirBnB where she and her friends had booked a stay was no longer available due to what the owner described as a plumbing problem. The building’s owner offered them an alternative; when they arrived there, they found a space that “looked more like a flophouse than someone’s home”... In exploring just what had happened to her, Conti delved further into the listings from the couple who had rented the spot. She discovered a number of troubling things: stock photos used in the listings, reviews suggesting she wasn’t the only person who’d had an abruptly canceled stay and glowing reviews from a couple who were themselves AirBnB hosts — and had spaces listed that looked uncannily like those owned by four other couples. “It seemed as if one person or group might have created numerous phony accounts to run a much larger Airbnb operation,” Conti writes. “If that proved true, it meant whoever ran the five accounts I’d located was controlling at least 94 properties in eight different cities.”
The former regional manager of a Center City Starbucks where two black men were arrested last year for sitting inside the store is suing the company for allegedly discriminating against white people. In a lawsuit obtained by CBS3, Shannon Phillips claims she was fired less than a month after the high-profile incident because she is white. She alleges the company discriminated in an effort to convince the community it properly responded to the incident... A Starbucks spokesperson says they are ready to defend their case in court.
Since Proposition 47 was passed, there has been an increase in theft across the state. Cities like San Francisco have seen organized crime rings turn shoplifting into a well-organized racket involving desperate thieves and unscrupulous black-market resellers. Among the nation's 20 largest cities, San Francisco now has the highest rate of property crime, which includes theft, shoplifting and vandalism... The retail heists taking place... aren't some small-time operation but instead a sophisticated network of international dealers who cross the border to buy stolen goods. What's worse is that a majority of the handoffs happen in view of San Francisco's City Hall.

The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), an interagency body that deals with national security concerns stemming from transactions involving overseas companies, is reviewing Chinese firm Bytedance’s acquisition of U.S. app Musical.ly, Reuters reported. Two sources familiar with the investigation told the news outlet that the body has the scope to investigate the acquisition because TikTok did not initially seek clearance from CFIUS.
“I would assume there would be public hearing in November,” Pelosi said in a roundtable with Bloomberg reporters and editors. Any case that is made to impeach the president “has to be ironclad” ... Pelosi said the closed-door depositions of witnesses will continue as long as they are “productive.”
“There is nothing wrong with, especially a new attorney general, coming in at the conclusion of a tumultuous, high-profile, controversial case and asking questions about how that all began and what was the factual predication that led to the initiation of that investigation and how was it conducted. Those sorts of reviews take place all the time,” former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said a George Mason University event Wednesday at the National Press Club.
And former CIA Director John Brennan said investigators working with U.S. Attorney John Durham, who is leading the investigation, will "try to ensure that this is done appropriately." "I would like to believe that any such review or investigation will be conducted in a professional, fair, and apolitical manner," Brennan said. "And John Durham has a very good reputation."
Is Brennan hinting that those investigators working with Durham are Deep State?
