If passed, it would create the country’s first publicly owned electronic banking platform, as well as a digital currency that can be exchanged for goods and services within the state.
This VICE article certainly has a ton of bias, but it is worth the read to learn how the left operates. This new proposal definitely sounds like some sort of new financial control system, under the council of socialists elites, which isn't surprising seeing how far left New York has gone. In fact, Senator Julia Salazar ran as a socialist. This will also cater to the half a million illegal immigrants that are currently living in New York City who are unable to open a bank account.
