I was not directed by Trump or anyone else connected with him to meet with Julian Assange. I was on my own fact finding mission at personal expense to find out information I thought was important to our country... At no time did I offer Julian Assange anything from the President because I had not spoken with the President about this issue at all.

The bill swiftly cleared the Republican-controlled Senate in the predominantly Mormon state with a vote of 29-0 with little discussion on Tuesday. It now moves to the Utah House of Representatives, where it is likely to face greater resistance. Polygamy is currently classified as a third-degree felony, punishable by up to five years in prison. If the Senate bill becomes law, punishments would be limited to fines of up to $750 and community service.

China’s Foreign Ministry said the move Wednesday was punishment for a recent opinion piece published by the Journal. Deputy Bureau Chief Josh Chin and reporter Chao Deng, both U.S. nationals, as well as reporter Philip Wen, an Australian national, have been ordered to leave the country within five days, said Jonathan Cheng, the Journal’s China bureau chief.

“We are not trying to spread fear and say that if you drive this car, it will accelerate into through a barrier, or to sensationalize it,” he said. “The reason we are doing this research is we’re really trying to raise awareness for both consumers and vendors of the types of flaws that are possible.”...

CNN claims he is not expected to be nominated beyond acting status as, “there is no way he could get confirmed” by the Senate. Still, Grenell’s track record as Ambassador to Germany suggests he is capable of fulfilling the position.
