The U.S. repatriated Americans from China on planes chartered by the State Department in early February. They were subject to 14-day quarantines. Employees didn’t receive prior safety training relevant to the California assignment, the whistleblower alleges... The employees weren’t tested for the coronavirus before they left two California quarantine sites... There is no evidence that any of the workers contracted or spread the virus.

A panel of three judges on the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday upheld a lower court's decision to not set aside Arpaio's guilty conviction.

Officers have said they go after undocumented adults with criminal records and not specific schools. But immigration rights activists said three incidents occurred in Colorado in the past week involving fathers detained before or after dropping off their children... ICE says it has a “sensitive location” policy forbidding them from making arrests in schools, hospitals, churches, funerals and weddings, but a school bus stop is legal if there are no children present.

Whether this includes any new cases is unclear.

After analyzing samples from the meteorite Acfer 086, a team of researchers from Harvard University and the biotech companies PLEX Corporation and Bruker Scientific found that the protein’s building blocks differed chemically from terrestrial protein. As they write in their research, which they shared on ArXiv on Saturday, “this is the first report of a protein from any extra-terrestrial source.”

The survey found that the obesity rate was 42% — higher than the 40% found in a similar 2015-16 study. The severe obesity rate was more than 9% in the new survey, up from the 8% figure in the previous one. Commandant General David Berger is said to have instructed that all Marine bases remove any "Confederate-related paraphernalia" worldwide, reported Task and Purpose. The directive was sent out as part of a memo, seen by Military.com, in which Berger demanded several initiatives be put in place, including finding ways to place more women in combat positions and to update their recruitment policies to prohibit those with prior domestic abuse convictions.

Likely voters under 30 actually have a net positive perception of socialism, by 43% to 39%, according to our poll, done in conjunction with John Zogby Strategies—the largest-ever ongoing survey project focused on young voters. That’s not as strong as their positive perceptions of capitalism, 50% to 33%. But not that far behind... three in five young American voters would either prefer a mainly socialist economic system for America—or aren’t sure.
