The FBI has warned of a significant spike in coronavirus scams, adding to concerns about an "unprecedented wave" of cyber-attacks voiced by United States Attorney Scott Brady. However, according to the FBI Cyber Division, threat actors from outside the U.S. are mainly targeting three states, those who have unusually high rates of COVID-19 infection.
The number tops a record death toll Italy set just a day earlier, when the country reported 627 deaths in a day related to COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. The latest news bring Italy's total number of coronavirus deaths up to nearly 5,000, and its number of reported cases to 53,578.

In January, Moscow reported 6,921 pneumonia infections — almost 2000 more than the same period last year. Nationally there has been a 3% increase in pneumonia cases as well.
