Chaos in the Middle East as Israel and Palestine trade blows while mixed Jewish-Arab cities descend into “Civil War”: “there’s been nothing like this in the history of Israel”…

Israel’s city of Lod is in chaos-mode as Jews and Arabs clash in the streets. Their Mayor is begging the government for military deployment claiming the situation is “too big for police.” The mayor went on to say that “Synagogues are being burned. Hundreds of cars set alight. Hundreds of Arab thugs are roaming the streets… Civil war has erupted in Lod… Petrol bombs are being thrown into [Jewish] homes…“there’s been nothing like this in the history of Israel.””

From the TimesOfIsrael:

“I have called on the prime minister to declare a state of emergency in Lod. To call in the IDF. To impose a curfew. To restore quiet… There is a failure of governance… This is a giant incident — an Intifada of Arab Israelis. All the work we have done here for years [on coexistence] has gone down the drain.”

According to Al-Monitor, the current violence is related to the conflict that took place during the weekend in Jerusalem over the Temple Mount and the “possible eviction of Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.”

MAYOR OF LOD, ISRAEL: "We have completely lost control of the city, and the streets are witnessing a civil war between Arabs and Jews."

Residents are being evacuated from their homes.

The chaos in the region was not exclusive to the city of Lod as both Israel and Hamas traded blows with missiles as residents scrambled for shelter. Apparently the IDF has taken out Hassan al-Kahuaji, head of the security branch of Hamas’ military intelligence.
