Newly released surveillance footage shows cops laughing over violent arrest of 73 year old woman with dementia who suffered a dislocated shoulder and a fractured arm…

Karen Garner, a 73 year old woman with dementia, apparently forgot to pay for $13 worth of items at a Walmart in Loveland, Colorado. When Walmart security stopped her, she tried to pay, but was refused. Cops were called and eventually caught up with her as she was walking home. That’s when she was approached and violently arrested, resulting in a dislocated shoulder, fractured arm, and other injuries . Once in their custody, she would go six hours without any medical attention.

Now new footage shows how cops were looking at their own footage and exchanged laughter at the incident while she was handcuffed to a bench 10 feet away.

From the Reporter Herald:

“Ready for the pop? Hear the pop?” Hopp can be heard saying in the video in regards to the alleged dislocation of Garner’s shoulder. According to the release, Garner was handcuffed to a bench just 10 feet away from them.
[…] The new release also alleges that Metzler, the supervisor on scene when Garner was arrested, knew she was injured and authorized that she be kept in a cell without medical evaluation or treatment back at the department, “even coming through to check on the status of the report writing and knowing (Garner) was still locked away and injured mere feet away,” the release says.
