One of The Brothers of Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court Justices Got Indicted for Bribing Election Officials for Democratic candidates. Now He’s Going To Hear Claims of Invalid Ballots from Trump’s Side…
This is a reminder: Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Kevin Dougherty is the younger brother of a Philadelphia Union leader indicted last year for allegedly influence-peddling and embezzling money from his labor union.
Justice Kevin Dougherty originally denied that he ‘knowingly’ benefited from his brother’s embezzlement from the union, but he was eventually identified as being “family member No. 4” in court documents that were made public.
John “Johnny Doc” Dougherty, the powerful Philadelphia labor boss and head of the Local 98 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, helped his childhood friend, Jim Kenney, become mayor, and in the same year helped his brother, Kevin Dougherty, win a seat on Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court with help from Local 98. He was also indicted for bribing a state elections judge to ‘stuff ballots for Democratic candidates‘, among whom are three judges sitting on the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court.
Now, Justice Kevin Dougherty, will be one Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court Justices that has agreed to hear arguments by President Trump’s campaign challenging thousands of mail-in ballots.
What could go wrong?
