Parents arrested in Loudoun County, VA after expressing opposition to the school board’s embrace of Critical Race Theory and transgender rights for students…
The First Amendment makes no stipulation about the tone, passion, or anger of expressions uttered under its protection. But the Loudoun County School Board feels it has more power than the Supreme Court. As many as 250 Loudoun County citizens showed up at Tuesday night’s board meeting to express opposition to the board’s embrace of Critical Race Theory and transgender rights for students – enough that the board extended its public comment period to 6 hours. But tensions were so high that the meeting was cut short, as attendees cheered and booed, despite repeated admonitions not to. Some parents were even arrested.
Update: former VA state senator Dick Black spoke out against critical race theory in the board meeting and crowd couldn’t stay silent. The Loudoun Co school board said if there were eruptions like this they’d end public comment pic.twitter.com/dx0oMAy1Fu
