Pentagon releases UFO report
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence released the UFO report called ‘Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena’. The document lacked data but lists 144 unexplained sightings with one object identified as a large, deflating balloon.

“We were able to identify one reported Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) with high confidence. In that case, we identified the object as a large, deflating balloon. The others remain unexplained,” the report read.

Although the report was limited in data, it did go on to say that some UAPs demonstrated advanced technology and on several occasions “unusual activities” were reported – though they speculate that this may be due to sensor errors. “In 18 incidents, described in 21 reports, UAP reportedly appeared to exhibit unusual flight characteristics. These observations could be the result of sensor errors, spoofing, or observer misperception and require additional rigorous analysis,” the report said.

While UAPs lack a single explanation, they offered the possibility that UAPs could be part of the “industry developmental programs” or “foreign adversary systems” such as technologies created by China, Russia, or even non-governmental entities.
