Some of the positions are reserved for current federal employees working for the Air Force.
‘Robber baron’ daughter of former Uzbekistan dictator is set to lose her property empire including £30m Surrey mansion as anti-corruption investigators try to seize her assets…
January 27, 2020
Gulnara Karimova, 47, is believed to own a series of impressive British properties which anti-corruption investigators have been attempting to seize... Karimova has been accused of accumulating more than £661million in bribes while her despotic father Islam Karimov led Uzbekistan between 1991 and 2016. The Uzbek 'princess' was sentenced to five years in jail in 2015 for promoting a criminal gang. Karimova then received an additional five years for embezzlement and extortion in 2017... Once the richest and most powerful woman in all ex-USSR countries, as well as a diplomat, pop singer, catwalk model, mobile phone mogul, and, in her own words, an 'exotic Uzbekistan beauty', she was seen as the 'most hated woman' in her homeland. Her cotton and gas-rich country became known as 'Corruptistan' as her nepotistic father indulged her whims, before finally turning on her as he became senile. Former British ambassador Craig Murray once described the then all-powerful 'princess' as a beautiful but deadly James Bond villainess.

January 27, 2020
While this might be one of the few instances where Brexit could have a positive effect on the UK tech environment, it’s worth noting that the UK was one of the countries that advocated — and cast a pivotal vote — for the implementation of the Copyright Directive.
Basically, British authorities championed possibly destructive legislation along with other EU powers for the whole continent, then used the opportunity of leaving to avoid having to implement it for themselves...

Researchers Are Studying Whether Swallowing a Pill Filled With Light Could Be The Key to Ingestible Medical Devices…
January 27, 2020
New research offers an alternative – devices that can break down in your stomach after you've swallowed a pill of light.
Yes, you read that right. The idea is that when medical devices inserted into the gastrointestinal tract reach the end of their life they could start to break down once they come into contact with certain kinds of light. They would then be processed through the body like any other kind of waste.
Thanks to newly developed light-sensitive hydrogel, devices could be easily removed if they weren't working or after the course of treatment had finished – all patients would have to do is take a glowing LED pill that would trigger the dissolving process in the gut...
