U.S. officials Say US troops injured by Russian military convoy in Syria…
Stripes.com is reporting that American troops were injured during a routine security patrol in Syria after a Russian vehicle hit a coalition vehicle causing injuries to the crew. Reports say that “as many as four U.S. service members suffered “concussion-like injuries.”
Here’s a twitter thread that attempts to show some of the scenes Syria:
Another video of the encounter between US and Russian forces from August 24 in NE Syria. Those are Russian Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-35M helicopters flying just above the fracas. Presumably, the two US vehicles were trying to block the Russian patrol. 315/https://t.co/RjzbJTG2sj pic.twitter.com/I4cKI632cI

Two more videos of Russian forces in Syria. Not sure if this video was also taken on August 24 before the fracas between Russian and American forces. The video shows a US MaxxPro MRAP, and Russian Typhoon-K, Tigr, Mi-8AMTSh, and Mi-35M. 316/https://t.co/H70Iz7dAke pic.twitter.com/BW0VLP324B

Another video presumably from that same August 24 patrol with Russian Typhoon-K, Ural-4320, and Tigr vehicles. Interestingly, it appears they brought the Mi-8AMTSh helicopter to hover just above a group of people to disperse them. 317/https://t.co/28oDhSpjZw pic.twitter.com/d4uJ8jB8yn

So the Fighter Bomber Instagram channel that posted this video claims the Russian Mi-8AMTSh helicopter in this video was hovering over American forces, presumably to try to disperse them or force them to move. 318/https://t.co/0iBHe4GlnT pic.twitter.com/LDebd2HlLP

A longer video of the confrontation. US forces appear to be blocking a road and then attempt to block the path of the Russian patrol when they drive through the field. An American MaxxPro MRAP appears to collide with a Russian Typhoon-K MRAP. 319/https://t.co/iCliZSYVY9 pic.twitter.com/xZTtN6l0Ib

Interestingly, the Russian patrol gets on line before advancing. The screenshots (from a Typhoon-K) show 2 Tigr vehicles to the left and an Ural-4320 and BTR-82A to the right. Then that US MaxxPro between the Typhoon-K and a Tigr-M. Lastly a Typhoon-K, M-ATV, and Mi-8AMTSh. 321/ pic.twitter.com/6tTMzIwGgc

So apparently this encounter occurred yesterday at 10 a.m. and not on Monday. US National Security Council spokesman John Ullyot called the actions of the Russian forces "unsafe and unprofessional". 325/https://t.co/2znyCR00o0

Notably, that NSC statement didn't mention the Russian helicopters, which means we have to go by the Russian instagram account that posted this video and claimed that the Russian Mi-8ATMSh helicopter was hovering over US forces. 327/https://t.co/j449IOQmFC
