The spread of the Coronavirus has brought to light the many reasons why the American biological and weapons research industry is vulnerable to foreign influence and hijacking. We examine how this game is being played out.

Les Wexner, the longest serving chief executive officer on the S&P 500 Index, is in talks to break up Victoria’s Secret owner L Brands Inc. and potentially step down from his role leading the company, according to a person familiar with the matter... Between poor performance, activist pressure and questions about past association with Jeffrey Epstein, the 82-year-old Wexner had a rough 2019.

Despite the volume of the drugs seized, all six suspects were cut loose at their arraignments in Manhattan Criminal Court on Wednesday morning... “None of the defendants are eligible for bail,” Assistant District Attorney Michael Di Paolo said in the court hearing. The judge ordered them to turn over their passports, as a number of them have connections to the Dominican Republic. They’re all due back in court Feb. 27. Their lawyers argued none of the defendants have criminal records and noted family members of the suspects turned up for their arraignments.

The complaint stems from claims made on the parent company’s website which notes that Purell’s ethyl alcohol “may be effective against viruses such as the Ebola virus, norovirus and influenza.” The language used on the Purell website is vague and could easily be seen as misleading, the FDA argues. The FDA argues that the descriptions of how Purell works or might work against certain viruses is a step over the line and should be altered.

Sanders’s allies are incensed by two names in particular: former Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who will co-chair the rules committee, and Hillary Clinton’s former campaign chairman John Podesta, who will have a seat on that committee... Podesta, a longtime Washington political consultant and Clinton confidant, is viewed with contempt by some on the left. One of Podesta’s hacked emails from 2016 showed him asking a Democratic strategist where to “stick the knife in” Sanders, who lost the nomination to Clinton that year after a divisive primary contest...

While acoustic levitation isn't really new concept, their methods are.

The video system, the spokesperson noted in a written statement, "simply gives police officers a prompt suggesting 'that person over there may be the person you're looking for'" and that the decision to act on that information will always be made by officers in the field. Initially, the system will be deployed at locations "where intelligence suggests we are most likely to locate serious offenders," the spokesperson said. "Each deployment will have a bespoke 'watch list' made up of images of wanted individuals, predominantly those wanted for serious and violent offenses."...

The 23-page complaint from former Democratic IT staffer Imran Awan was filed Tuesday afternoon in D.C. Superior Court. Awan and the other plaintiffs—his wife, two of his brothers, and a friend, all of whom worked with Awan in Democratic House IT services—named as defendants The Daily Caller, the nonprofit Daily Caller News Foundation, DCNF reporter Luke Rosiak, and conservative publisher Regnery, which published a 2019 book Rosiak wrote about Awan...

The Awans’ lawsuit accused the defendants of both defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress, subjecting them to “a relentless, xenophobic campaign of defamatory attacks.” The Awans’ lawyer, Deepak Gupta, told The Daily Beast that the heart of the complaint lies in the notion that “the victims of fake news and right wing conspiracies are not just our politics and our discourse—it’s also real people, whose lives can be ruined.”
