We believe this work represents a critical step toward general application of nanomaterial-based FET sensors in many areas, including in vitro and in vivo real-time chip-based monitoring of disease marker proteins, which could have substantial impact on both fundamental research and health care, as well as integration in free-standing nanoelectronic scaffolds for engineered tissues and in vivo implants.
