“We’ve got to stop with this COVID theater”: said DeSantis to people wearing masks behind him during presser…
In the beginning of DeSantis’ press conference at the University of South Florida, he turned to the group of people standing behind him wearing masks and said “We’ve got to stop with this COVID theater. If you want to wear it, it’s fine, but this is ridiculous.”
The governor turned around and placed his binder on the podium, clearly annoyed. He shook his head and sighed before beginning the press conference.
Full presser (if you care):“COVID theater,” DeSantis said in a video alongside Florida Surgeon General over the weekend, “has no place in Florida.”
Force-masking employees for the appearance of safety is not a sufficient justification.
