According to a joint cybersecurity alert released by CISA, NSA, FBI, and the Department of Energy (DOE), government-backed hacking groups may be able to hijack multiple industrial equipment using a new malware toolset. Threat actors could employ custom-built modular malware to search for, compromise, and take control of industrial control system (ICS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) equipment, according to the federal agencies.
