Va. Governor’s Gun-Confiscation Proposal Could Affect Millions of Residents…
January 16, 2019
"The legislative proposals being discussed would put most firearms beyond the reach of law-abiding Virginians who choose the firearms of their choice to protect themselves, hunt, and practice recreational target shooting," said Lawrence G. Keane, the group's general counsel. "That could potentially impact the availability of tens of millions of firearms."
While short on details, Northam's announcement said part of the proposed gun-control package would ban the "sale, purchase, possession, and transport" of undefined "assault firearms" including "any firearm that is equipped with a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds of ammunition." Since the vast majority of semiautomatic handguns and rifles in the state are sold standard with magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds, it appears the proposed ban would affect most firearms on sale in Virginia. Additionally, the announcement of the ban did not include mention of any grandfathering to allow what NSSF estimated would be millions of Virginians who already own such firearms to legally keep them.

Freshman Democrats Turn on Pelosi Over Border Wall, Seek Deal with Trump…
January 16, 2019
Several freshman Democrat members of the new House of Representatives majority have turned on Speaker Nancy Pelosi in her steadfast refusal to fund President Donald Trump’s planned wall along the U.S. border with Mexico and are instead seeking for Democrats to cut a deal on the wall with Trump.
[...]
a quick look around the Democrat conference to see what rank-and-file Democrats are saying about their leadership–Pelosi and Hoyer on the House side, and Schumer and Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin on the Senate side–proves that Hoyer’s claim of unity is simply untrue. In fact, many Democrats–particularly the newly elected freshmen–want to negotiate with Trump on the wall, and they are saying so publicly while expressing their disdain for Pelosi and her fellow leaders.NASA May Decide This Year to Land a Drone on Saturn’s Moon Titan – Dragonfly, if chosen, would aim to launch in 2025 and arrive at Titan in 2034…
January 16, 2019
The spacecraft that have peered through the yellowish haze surrounding Saturn's moon Titan discovered a strange, yet strangely familiar world where life could theoretically take root. Now, scientists want to return — this time buoyed by Earth's fascination with drone technology.
That's precisely what a team of scientists working on a proposed mission called Dragonfly want to do.
[...]
Dragonfly, if chosen, would aim to launch in 2025 and arrive at Titan in 2034. The world it will explore is oddly reminiscent of Earth for a strange moon so far away. On Earth, sunlight powers organic life growing in fields and forests; the same sunlight triggers chemical reactions in Titan's upper atmosphere that create large organic molecules that pour down on the moon's surface, like Earth's rainwater. While Earth has a landscape made of rock covered in places by water, Titan's landscape is made of water ice covered in places by organic compounds.According to the law of accelerating returns it is likely that missions conceived after 2025 could arrive at Titan before the NASA drone in 2034.
Bread Making Robot To Put Bakers out of Business?…
January 16, 2019
We’ve all heard that robots are taking over our jobs and if you are a baker - the rumors have never been more real. Meet BreadBot, the robot that can mix, form, proof and bake ten loaves of bread an hour.
Introduced to the world during CES 2019, the automatic machine starts with dry ingredients and bakes several different types of bread, including white, whole wheat, nine grain, sourdough, and honey oat.
Made by the Wilkinson Baking Company the BreadBox has a compact footprint and cad can be installed pretty much anywhere.
Pretty doubtful as baking consists of a lot of other things than bread. It might extend a business more than it would substitute one.
