Microsoft workers released a letter on Friday addressed to CEO Satya Nadella and President Brad Smith, in which they voiced opposition to the $479 million contract that aims to equip the US Army with up to 100,000 augmented reality headsets to be used in combat and for training. The Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) will be based on a preexisting Microsoft technology called HoloLens. Released in March 2016, HoloLens is capable of interposing digital images on whatever its wearer sees.
Signed by more than 50 employees, the letter states that the IVAS contract marks the first time that Microsoft has “crossed the line into weapons development.”

30-year old Mohimanul Alam Bhuiya left New York City to join with the terrorist organization in 2014, having become radicalized by Islamist propaganda and seeking to pitch a plan to destroy civilian aircraft to the group.
[...]
Bhuiya eventually became disillusioned with ISIS, and was able to return to the United States on his own initiative after contacting the FBI and requesting “extraction.” He faced criminal charges that could’ve landed him with 25 years in prison upon returning, but got off easy in part because of cooperation with the FBI, only receiving supervised release. In a bizarre twist of fate, reporting from the Wall Street Journal now has confirmed that he’s employed by the U.S District Attorney’s office in Brooklyn. This development leaves many critics of prosecutorial misconduct alarmed, as it would normally be assumed that someone who joined the world’s most dangerous terrorist organization would be blacklisted from sensitive government positions.

What those adults have done to those children is abuse. Leftist teachers using fear to prey upon innocent minds of children to indoctrinate them with their own political ideology. What's the chance that this teacher presented an alternative view point on climate change to those kids? Hey kids, the sun is hot... here's how often the planet has had C02 levels 100's of times higher... did you know our climate models are so inaccurate we couldn't even measure the effect of remediating factors, assuming we even know how to reverse climate change?
The teacher literally told them the world was going to end in 12 years and they would all be dead. People who brainwash their children to do stunts like this should be sterilized.

WAPO: Most Americans incorrectly think gun-murder rates have gotten worse, not better…
February 23, 2019
In other words, gun homicides have dropped substantially over the past 25 years — but most Americans believe the opposite to be true. Why? Perhaps in part because of the media focus on multiple-victim shooting incidents in recent years. Perhaps, too, because of the number and deadliness of those incidents. We’ve noted before that the number of fatalities in major mass-shooting incidents has increased dramatically in recent years; it’s possible that people are conflating increases in frequency and deadliness of mass shootings with the United States getting more dangerous generally.
It’s hard not to assume that this influences the politics of the gun debate. Democrats are both much more likely to support new gun restrictions and to believe that the rate of gun murders is higher than it was in 1994, a year that was near the peak of violent crime in recorded U.S. history. Does the latter inform the former?
The good news is that gun homicides are down substantially both as a raw total and as a function of population since 1994. The bad news is that many Americans don’t seem to realize that.
Did not expect this article from WAPO. But here's an observation: Their graphs should of went back further than ‘91 though. Starting at ‘91 makes it look like the Clinton ban may have caused the downturn in gun murders. If you go back further you see a pattern of increases and decreases, ‘93 just happens to have been a particularly high peak followed by a regression back to the mean, and no meaningful increase after the ban ended.
"Regression back to the mean". A concept few are aware of and even fewer subscribe to. It's absolutely legit though, and it illustrates itself so much in life. Sports teams, political wins and losses, gambling, car racing, you name it. We always regress to the mean. Always.
