Forty percent of respondents said they believe the coronavirus was made in a lab in China even though there is no evidence for this.

Scientists working in the Wuhan lab just disappeared. The government destroyed all the evidence from the lab. The government kept it a secret for months. China never provided a sample of the virus. The food markets were never really closed. Bloggers that were reporting on the story have completely disappeared. Now, China is preventing anyone from reaching the caves where horseshoe bats live so that the natural virus can't be compared.

Scientists say the virus was transmitted to humans from another species.

There's no evidence for this. The preponderance of evidence points to the lab in Wuhan. That's not a conspiracy. It's where evidence leads. Especially considering it's got 96% sequence identity with another published virus, and the only parts it picked up from this fantastical imaginary second virus was the part that made it infectious to humans.
