PHARMA & MEDIA WARS – Trump’s 5D Chess Move To Crush Industry Cartels

This week, stable-genius Trump will deliver a 5D chess move that will target the Pharma and the Fake News Industrial Complex in one swipe. Here’s how.

Trump’s Move

Trump is getting ready to strike a major blow to the pockets of Big Pharma and the Fake News Industrial Complex. He’s about to deliver on another under-reported promise made during his campaign, which was to negotiate a better deal for all Americans.

From CBS News:

“At long last the drug companies and foreign countries will be held accountable for how they rigged the system against American consumers,” Mr. Trump said. “This is a revolutionary change. Nobody’s had the courage to do it or they just didn’t want to do it. And this is a change for the people. This is not a change for industry or for companies or for pharma. This is a change for the people. It will be substantially a reduction in drug prices for our people and our senior citizens. Tremendous, tremendous difference.”

Trump Winning

A Historically Significant Negotiation

Trump is going to require that drug companies provide list-prices for pharmaceutical drugs. Then he’s going to negotiate a bulk price for all of Medicare and Medicaid. The impact will be of major historical significance as it will be one of the largest negotiations/deals ever made. Understand this; By taking on big Pharma, the Fake News Industrial Complex will be caught in the crossfire too. Yes, you read that right. Think about this; TV Advertising is Pharma’s biggest expenditure. Trump is about to knock out 2 birds with 1 stone.

DID YOU KNOW?:
In 2016, 771,368 Pharma direct-to-consumer ads were shown.

In 2017, the U.S. Pharma industry spent $5.8 Billion in ads.

Bear Witness

We will all witness Trump eliminate the line-item tax deduction for big Pharma advertising, negotiate a major deal for the American people, while exposing the real costs of the drugs being produced. Trump will soon be delivering a crushing blow to this criminal cartel. Think about this; 60% of Medicare and Medicaid expenditures are for Pharmaceuticals, while 60% of the Big Pharma expenditure is on TV advertising. Do you see what’s happening here? Trump is about to stick a fork in big Pharma and the Media cartel, while at the same time, reversing Obamacare with one stroke of the pen.

For those wanting some figures, the Washington Post put together an article highlighting the expenditures of Pharma.

nine out of 10 big pharmaceutical companies spend more on marketing than on research.

The biggest spender, Johnson & Johnson, shelled out $17.5 billion on sales and marketing in 2013, compared with $8.2 billion for R&D. In the top 10, only Roche spent more on R&D than on sales and marketing.

Most of this marketing money is directed at the physicians who do the prescribing, rather than consumers. As Oliver pointed out, drug companies spent more than $3 billion a year marketing to consumers in the U.S. in 2012, but an estimated $24 billion marketing directly to health care professionals.

Trump Is Making Obamacare Optional For All

Even though the repeal for Obamacare ended with McStain’s “No” vote on the Senate floor, Trump’s admin has come up with other ways to give families more healthcare choices.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanently repealed the Obamacare individual mandate. This makes health insurance voluntary, as it was before Obamacare existed. Without it, a family choosing to purchase some other form of insurance (or none at all) would face a tax penalty of 2.5 percent of their income. Now as of January 2019 there will be no more penalty.
From NOLO:

Republicans have long been opposed to Obamacare’s individual and employer mandates. However, perhaps the most important reason the mandate was eliminated in the TCJA is because it will save money. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), eliminating the individual mandate will save the federal government approximately $338 billion over the next 10 years. This is because fewer people will obtain government subsidized health coverage. This savings enabled Congress to implement many of the tax cuts contained in the TCJA.

Trump Lays Down The Law

President Trump also just signed into law the Patient Right to Know Drug Prices Act. This prohibits health insurance issuers and group-health plans from putting shady gag clauses into contracts with pharmacies that stops them from giving certain information to enrollees.

Basically, this law allows pharmacists to tell customers they could pay less for a prescription if they paid the full price of the drug out-of-pocket rather than using their insurance and paying the copay amount.

Prepare to witness over dramatic reactions from the Fake News Industrial Complex soon. Losing this much revenue isn’t going to happen without a huge fight. Expect the unexpected.
