English-speaking Cameroonians fleeing atrocities of their French-speaking government helped push Tijuana’s asylum wait list to 10,000 on Sunday, up from 4,800 just three months earlier. At the same time, the U.S. is returning more Central Americans to Mexico to wait for dates in U.S. immigration court, putting asylum seekers in an unexpected, prolonged period of uncertainty.

Based on Mexican government figures and reporting by The Associated Press, at least 40,000 migrants who have reached the U.S. border with Mexico are on a waiting list for an initial attempt to seek asylum or waiting for a court hearing in the U.S. after being sent back.

When the accounts were initially closed, customers were told to continue paying down their debt. Now, they're being told by the company that their debt is cancelled. CBC talked to some customers who got letters from the bank this week.

A 24 year old university student, Christine Langlois of Montreal, said she hadn't paid the card in 5 years.

"It's kind of like I'm being rewarded for my irresponsibility," she said.

Here's how CC companies make money when you borrow:

1. First They create the loan out of "thin air" to begin with.
2. Then they make money on your interest payments, which allows them to lend more "thin air" loans.
3. When you stop paying, they tack on late and overlimit fees for about 6 months before they charge it off.
4. After 6 months, they sell the debts to debt collectors.
5. They insure the debt and get reimbursed for it.
6. They can cancel the debt altogether and get a tax credit from the government, and you get to pay taxes on the cancelled amount as income for that year.

And they still need bailouts.

Rinaldo Rizzo testified about a girl he met at the home of his employers, Glenn and Eva Dubin...According to the deposition, Rizzo and his wife tried to console her with words and renewed offers of water and tissue. Nothing worked... “And then in a state of shock, she just lets it rip, and what she told me was unbelievable,” Rizzo testified. “She proceeded to tell my wife and I… 'I was on the island and there was Ghislaine, and there was Sarah,’ and she said, ‘They asked me for sex. I said no.’”... Rizzo testified that when she refused to have sex, Kellen took her phone and passport and gave them to Maxwell. “And at that point, she said she was threatened,” Rizzo testified. “And I said, ‘Threatened?’ She says, ‘Yes. Patrick Crusius, 21, emerged with his hands up from a vehicle that was stopped at an intersection shortly after last Saturday’s attack and told officers, “I’m the shooter,” Detective Adrian Garcia said in an arrest warrant affidavit. Crusius later waived his Miranda rights and agreed to speak with detectives, telling them he entered the store with an AK-47 assault rifle and multiple magazines, and that he was targeting Mexicans.

Did he tell them he was targeting Mexicans before or after police said he was in a state of shock and confusion? Was it before of after his coercive interrogation?

For those wondering, on page 21, the witness says she checked the box that says the original statement about Trump is inaccurate. They then ask her why and she explains on page 24,25, and 26 that Trump was not involved with any of this.

Hundreds of Chinese schoolchildren have been recruited to work long and often illegal hours in a factory that makes Amazon's Alexa devices, China Labor Watch has found. The labor rights group's investigation showed that more than 1,000 children aged between 16 and 18 were employed as "interns" at a Foxconn factory in Hengyang. While Chinese factories are allowed to employ students aged 16 or over, these students are not allowed to work nights or overtime. Foxconn admitted that students had been employed illegally in a statement emailed to Business Insider and said that it is taking immediate action to rectify the situation. Amazon said it is "urgently investigating" the allegations and addressing them with Foxconn at the most senior level...

Mexican authorities found a total of 19 bodies scattered across the city of Uruapan in Mexico's Michoacán state on Thursday morning. Some of the bodies were hanging by the neck, while others were dismembered. The killings appear to be part of a scare tactic by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) aimed at their rivals, Michoacán's attorney general said. Traditionally Mexican cartel violence has been about the drugs trade. But experts say the fight could also be over the production and distribution of avocados, dubbed "green gold" in Mexico...

Enter Biden spokesman, Bill Russo - who tweeted pure disinformation trying to prove Breitbart wrong, with a partial transcript of Trump's Charlottesville comments.

What Russo failed to include was what Trump said shortly after - which Breitbart's called him out for over Twitter for omitting the part where Trump says "I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally."
