According to BBG, the top 100 private landowners own property in 39 states. Their parcels suit a number of purposes, from investment, conservation, tax benefits or simply the bragging rights that come with owning large chunks of the US.

The Baltimore County Police Department announced Tuesday that seven suspects, including a 16-year-old charged as an adult, were charged with killing 21-year-old Daniel Alejandro Alvarado Cuellar. Cuellar's body was discovered July 31 in the grass outside an apartment building in the Townson area and had "multiple sharp-force injuries," officials said in a news release.

Chinese customs data reported Sunday shows imports of U.S. goods fell to $10.3 billion following Chinese tariff hikes and orders to companies to cancel orders. Exports to the United States sank to $44.4 billion.

A strong line of thunderstorms developed over western Washington, bringing frequent lightning, heavy rains, flooding and hail to the Puget Sound region, according to the National Weather Service's office in Seattle. The 1,250 lightning strikes were between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. local time, it said. Of those, 200 were recorded in the Seattle metro area from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m...
