Mark Zuckerborg “Don’t break us up, or we won’t be able to defeat China.”…

When it came to the internet, Mr Zuckerberg implicitly acknowledged this, when his speech turned to China. Saying that China was building its own version of the internet, Mr Zuckerberg warned it was now competing with the US to export its version to foreign countries. In this way, he sought to find common interests with his American audience. You might not like Facebook, he said, but at least it's not China.
He also made what may well turn out to be a powerful argument against tough regulation. Having defined Facebook as the internet, Mr Zuckerberg argued that we need to save the internet from Chinese influence...

October 18, 2019
Whether by crudely fashioned seafaring boats or foot-trekked Aegean coastal routes, Neanderthals and early humans somehow managed to get to the Greek island of Naxos tens of thousands of years earlier than previously thought. That means humans have been enjoying the exquisite beauty of the Mediterranean for about 200,000 years, according to findings released Thursday by an international research team... Until now, scholars largely thought the Aegean Sea impassable to Neanderthals and early hominids, and believed Mediterranean islands to have been settled for only about 9,000 years.

Update from Watkins on 8kun
October 18, 2019
"We have been up twice, and those configurations failed. Expect to see a live version soon. Within hours we should be functional."
It isn't quite clear from the screenshot if Vanwatech is denying service to 8kun or not. It seems this might be the second attempt by Jim Watkin's use of a 3rd party for DNS service but probably got taken down. We'll update when there's more clarity.

The decision to conduct a pre-planned airstrike on the base formerly used to train U.S.-allied Kurdish fighters — LaFarge Cement Factory — came after Turkish fighters began to move in on the facility, according to Col. Myles Caggins, a spokesman for the U.S.-led campaign against the Islamic State.
The airstrikes were meant to “reduce the facility’s military usefulness” for Turkey...
‘Fun Times In Beijing’: Hunter Biden Received $700,000 From Company That Held Stake In Chinese Investment Firm…
October 18, 2019
Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, did not receive any compensation directly from Burisma, according to available records. The oft-cited $50,000 a month figure is actually based on payments he received from a New York-based company called Rosemont Seneca Bohai, which was owned and controlled by his longtime business partner, Devon Archer... The bank records show that in each month between June 2014 and October 2015, Rosemont Seneca Bohai wired between $10,000 and $150,979 to Hunter Biden for undisclosed purposes. In total, Hunter Biden received $708,302 from Rosemont Seneca Bohai, which was under Archer’s care at all times.
During that 17-month timeframe, in June 2015, Rosemont Seneca Bohai obtained a 20% equity stake in Bohai Harvest RST, the Chinese private equity firm that Hunter Biden has been a board member of since its founding in 2013. Hunter Biden announced Sunday he would resign from that position by the end of October.
