After traveling more than 2 million kilometers through outer space over the course of 27 months, NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft arrived at the asteroid Bennu in early December of last year. Since arriving, the spacecraft's five scientific instruments have been surveying the 490-meter wide asteroid to better understand its properties and find a safe landing site from which to gather samples for a return to Earth.
On Tuesday, the first results of these scientific inquiries were published in seven papers that appeared in Nature and a handful of its research journals. The seven papers are collated on this website.

An exascale supercomputer, capable of processing 1 quintillion (1,000,000,000,000,000,000) calculations per second, could be used for testing military weapons, modeling weather patterns, or doing research on cancer, cardiac issues, traumatic brain injuries, and suicide prevention. Intel and the Energy Department said that when Aurora is completed in 2021, it will be the most powerful supercomputer in the US and potentially the world, though other countries may also have plans to build an exascale supercomputer.

U.S.-backed forces have captured Islamic State fighters tied to a January suicide bombing in Syria that killed four Americans, U.S. officials say, generating concrete leads for Washington about the deadliest attack to date there against U.S. personnel.
The bombing killed Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jonathan Farmer, Navy Chief Cryptologic Technician Shannon Kent and Scott Wirtz from the Defense Intelligence Agency. It also killed Ghadir Taher, a naturalized U.S. citizen working as a civilian interpreter for a U.S. contractor.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has reached an agreement with Attorney General William Barr to stay on at the Justice Department “a little while longer,” a source familiar with their conversation told Fox News – despite initial plans to step down by now.
Fox News and other outlets previously reported that Rosenstein had planned to step down in mid-March. However, sources close to the deputy attorney general say Rosenstein has not yet given his two weeks notice. He remains at the DOJ as Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe enters what is widely believed to be its final phases. There has been much speculation that Rosenstein would like to stay in his post until the investigation concludes.

Sunday morning, agents from the Three Points Station arrested a 35-year-old Honduran national after he entered the country illegally, west of Sasabe, Arizona. During processing, agents conducting record checks discovered Santos Avila Rosales was convicted of child molestation in the state of Louisiana in 2011.
Sunday evening, agents from the Casa Grande Station arrested Arturo Benjamin Avila Torres after he illegally entered the country south of Vamori, Arizona. Subsequent record checks, revealed the 46-year-old Mexican national is a two-time California convicted felon for assault with a firearm in 1993 and again in 1998 for lascivious acts with a minor under 14.

The spinoff completed early Tuesday is part of a multi-pronged process that will culminate with the $71.3-billion sale of the rest of Murdoch’s entertainment company to Walt Disney Co. The company announced that it had finished the process of issuing shares in the new Fox Corp. to investors of 21st Century Fox.
