The drone of choice (an M2 quadcopter) can only carry up to 5lbs at distances as long as 12.5 miles, but it should still be faster, cheaper and more consistent than the current system of driving samples across town using cars.

March 26, 2019
In a blow delivered to global warming purveyors, a new study discovered that a massive Greenland glacier that had been shrinking rapidly is expanding again.
NBC News reports that a new study published in Nature Geoscience examined the Jakobshavn glacier, in central west Greenland, the ice sheet’s fastest glacier and largest by volume discharge, and found that as opposed to the situation in 2012, when the glacier was shrinking 1.8 miles every year while thinning roughly 130 feet, over the last two years the process has been reversed.

During the excavation, the team found a mysterious, 3,400-year-old stela written in the name of a senior official named Usersatet, who was viceroy of Kush, a region to the south of Egypt. It dates to a time when there was no mining activity at Wadi el-Hudi and the site had been abandoned. This leaves archaeologists with the question of why someone bothered to drag the stela 18. 6 miles into the eastern desert and leave it at Wadi el-Hudi.Lawmakers hold gun control hearing to discuss “red flag” state laws…

Doug Jones of Alabama, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona joined 53 Republicans in voting "no." Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, who caucuses with the Democrats, also voted "no."
The vote had been teed up by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in a bid to make Democratic senators -- including several 2020 presidential candidates -- go on the record about the measure. McConnell had called the proposal "a radical, top-down, socialist makeover of the entire U.S. economy."

European Union Passes Sweeping Copyright Reforms, Ending Safe Harbor For YouTube and others…
March 26, 2019
Before MEPs could vote on the final bill, the European Parliament ruled against a number of last minute amendments from MEPs unhappy with the final text.
The proposed amendments included the deletion of Article 13 (renamed Article 17 in the consolidated text), which requires UGC platforms like YouTube to agree "fair remuneration" license deals with rights holders and makes them legally liable for hosting unlicensed content, effectively ending safe harbor immunity.
In practice, that's likely to involve YouTube using a stricter filtering system, although upload filters are not mentioned anywhere in the text and the directive does not specify what methods or tools platforms must use to block illegal content.
For those unaware on what this does, essentially, it fractures the internet as it forces every commercial site older than 3 years old to implement a mechanism in which once a copyright infringement has been detected, you have to block further attempts to upload such content.
How? No one really knows and nobody, including Google, has truly figured it out.
Essentially expect EU to be geoblocked by major platforms in the next 2 years (time needed for this to become a law). If you happen to be an artist - you are done because you won't have a place to promote yourself. Definitely move off existing platforms like deviantart/tumblr to your own one however (hosting companies are not affected by this law), that way you will not have your own legit content blocked. If you do that, you are off to a fairer fight as you at least can prove you own a website completely (so you can sign contracts regarding article 11 and linking).Watch Chicago police slam decision in Jussie Smollett case…
