Following in the footsteps of her mother, Lauren Salzman has decided to plead guilty rather than go to trial in the case of the U.S. v. Raniere Et Al.to one count each of Racketeering and Racketeering Conspiracy.
Lauren’s plea was done “under seal” in order to keep the details from becoming known by other defendants in the case, some of whom are also engaged in plea deal negotiations. But the Scheduling Order for her sentencing – which will take place on September 11th – was just posted on PACER.

Kelsey Turner was taken into custody March 21 in Stockton in connection with the death of Dr. Thomas Burchard, of Salinas, Calif., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.

Judge James E. Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled in favor of CNN, USA Today, Judicial Watch, and other outlets, telling the DOJ that it must hand over the Comey memos to the court for review and possible public release.
The memos include the notes that Comey said he leaked to the media to spark the appointment of a special counsel.

On Monday, Rio Grande City agents encountered a group of 110 illegal aliens. A few hours later, Rio Grande City agents encountered a large group of 98 illegal aliens. This morning, Rio Grande City agents encountered 190 illegal aliens.
On Tuesday, the Rio Grande Valley Sector apprehended nearly 1,700 illegal aliens, making it the highest one-day total since 2014.
On Tuesday, McAllen agents encountered a group of 158 illegal aliens. An hour later, McAllen agents encountered a group of 105 illegal aliens. That same day, agents encountered a third group of over 100 illegal aliens (agents took 123 people in to custody).
The illegal aliens were comprised of family units and unaccompanied children from El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Sri Lanka.

The FBI calls it the Chinese Embassy Scam, and it comes in as a call in Chinese claiming to be from the Chinese consulate or embassy. Other versions of the scam come from a shipping company about a package waiting for them at the embassy.
The phone numbers look legitimate, so in yet another variation of the scam when the caller says a package was found with their passport, social security card, or credit card, it's more believable. Victims are then passed onto an "investigator" from Chinese law enforcement who requests funds to resolve the problem. If they won't wire over money, they're threatened with jail or deportation. Some even ask for cryptocurrency or credit card info.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned on Thursday that China’s island-building in the South China Sea and its sprawling international transport and trade initiative are both part of a broad national defence strategy, stepping up his rhetoric after Italy endorsed Beijing’s infrastructure plan.
The infrastructure that Beijing is building in the South China Sea “is not because they want freedom of navigation”, Pompeo said during a discussion in Washington with National Review editor Rich Lowry. “Their efforts to build ports around the world are not because they want to be good shipbuilders and stewards of the waterways, but rather they have a state national security element to each and every one of them.
