Trump can’t block people on Twitter, court rules…
July 9, 2019
The president cannot infringe the first amendment rights of citizens by banning them from being able to see his tweets or post messages to him, the court decided. The constitution does not allow Mr Trump "to exclude persons from an otherwise open online dialogue because they expressed views with which" he disagreed, the judges said.
Mr Trump had admitted to blocking the users because they had criticised him or his policies. But he had argued his account was private and that he could use it to ban whichever uses he wanted. The president and a number of his staff members had been sued by a host of social media users who had been blocked by him on Twitter, meaning they could no longer see his profile or send tweets to him.
They argued that his Twitter account was a public forum and that they therefore could not be banned from taking part in it by the president. Judges in the US Court of Appeals agreed, and banned Mr Trump from blocking them on the site.
Facial recognition: Activists call for ban of government use of technology that is ‘profound threat to humanity’…
July 9, 2019
As several cities pass legislation preventing the technology’s use amid concerns over privacy and racial bias, activists say a nationwide ban is the best way to protect people. They say giants such as Google, Microsoft and Amazon, are being disingenuous by calling for regulation of the technology, and seeking to avoid a debate on whether it is even necessary.
“There is a reason we are calling for a total ban. We believe this is a profound threat to human rights and to human society,” Evan Greer, deputy director of Fight for the Future, told The Independent. “They should not be there. Any benefit to society is far outweighed by the threats.”...
Michael Flynn won’t testify against former business partner, will be designated co-conspirator…
July 9, 2019
The order from U.S. District Judge Anthony Trenga in the Eastern District of Virginia cites a July 3 notice filed under seal by the government “stating that the government will not be calling Michael T. Flynn as a witness in its case-in-chief.” The order also states that Flynn filed a memorandum under seal on Monday opposing the co-conspirator designation.
Sidney Powell, Flynn’s attorney, told The Hill in a statement that Flynn is still cooperating with the government and argued that the government could submit evidence relating to Flynn’s involvement in the case without labeling her client as a co-conspirator.
[...]
The development raised speculation that Flynn could be angling for a pardon from Trump. At the status conference last month, Powell said she needed at least 90 days to prepare for Flynn’s sentencing, noting she has three hard drives of information to review. Sullivan ordered the parties to file their next status report at the end of August...
IBM closes its $34 billion acquisition of Red Hat…
July 9, 2019
The deal was originally announced in October, when the companies said IBM would buy all shares in Red Hat at $190 each in cash. The acquisition of Red Hat, an open source, enterprise software maker, marks the close of IBM's largest deal ever. It's one of the largest in U.S. tech history. Excluding the AOL-Time Warner merger, it follows the $67 billion merger between Dell and EMC in 2016 and JDS Uniphase's $41 billion acquisition of optical-component supplier SDL in 2000.
Under the deal, Red Hat will now be a unit of IBM's Hybrid Cloud division, according to the original announcement. The companies said Red Hat's CEO Jim Whitehurst would join IBM's senior management team and report to CEO Ginni Rometty.

Tom Steyer launches 2020 campaign after saying he wouldn’t…
July 9, 2019
“The other Democratic candidates for President have many great ideas that will absolutely move our country forward, but we won’t be able to get any of those done until we end the hostile corporate takeover of our democracy,” Steyer said in a statement.
Citing issues including climate change and the opioid crisis, Steyer said that in nearly every “major intractable problem, at the back of it, you see a big money interest for whom stopping progress, stopping justice is really important to their bottom line.”
“Americans are deeply disappointed and hurt by the way they’re treated by what they see as the power elite in Washington, D.C., and that goes across party lines and it goes across democracy,” Steyer said in a video his campaign was releasing Tuesday. “We’ve got to take the corporate control out of our politics.”

The Mexican peso fell 1.3%, the largest amount in 4 weeks, against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday after Mexico's Finance Minister Carlos Urzúa resigned unexpectedly.
What happened: Urzúa sent a letter to Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in which he suggested members of the president's inner circle with "patent conflict of interest" had meddled in policy and that decisions had been made without "sufficient foundation."...
Judge Blocks Trump Rule Requiring Drug Companies to List Prices in TV Ads…
July 9, 2019
A federal judge ruled on Monday that the Trump administration cannot force pharmaceutical companies to disclose the list price of their drugs in television ads, dealing a blow to one of the president’s most visible efforts to pressure drug companies to lower their prices.
Judge Amit P. Mehta, of the United States District Court in the District of Columbia, ruled that the Department of Health and Human Services exceeded its regulatory authority by seeking to require all drugmakers to include in their television commercials the list price of any drug that costs more than $35 a month. The rule was to take effect this week.
Judge Amit P. Mehta (an Obama Appointee) has been obstructing the Trump administration every chance he gets.

Watch: Honey Bees Drop Dead Following California Earthquake…
July 9, 2019
If the dwindling bee population across the US wasn't enough, new footage uploaded onto social media shows, in one instance, thousands of bees dropping dead upon a series of earthquakes that shook California last week... On Saturday morning, blogger Khalil Underwood from California uploaded the footage onto Twitter of thousands of dying bees spread across his driveway following the massive quakes.
I wasn’t exagerating or joking last night..... after the Earthquake thousands of bees were vibrating on the floor and dying.... this shit was so crazy to me. pic.twitter.com/qqCpBVhuyd
— Khalil Underwood (@RealKhalilU) July 6, 2019
There is no definitive answer as to why the bees died after the quakes.
However, a study from Taiwan during two significant earthquakes in 1999 and 2002 showed a catastrophic effect on insect communities, resulting in "large declines in total individual number but also total species number of insects."...

Bill Clinton ‘not telling the truth’ about Jeffrey Epstein, says investigative journalist who first revealed allegations in 2010…
July 9, 2019
Investigative journalist Conchita Sarnoff said Monday that former President Bill Clinton isn’t telling the truth when he says he "knows nothing" of the alleged crimes of Jeffrey Epstein. Sarnoff, who’s the executive director of Alliance to Rescue Victims of Trafficking and the author of her book “Trafficking,” appeared on Fox News @ Night... Clinton... insisting that he took “a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane” in 2002 and 2003 – while his Secret Service detail traveled with him at all times – and that he had only brief meetings with Epstein... Sarnoff, who first broke the Epstein story back in 2010, says the figure isn’t accurate, claiming that Clinton was a guest on Epstein’s planes many more times over a longer period.
“I know from the pilot logs and these are pilot logs that you know were written by different pilots and at different times that Clinton went, he was a guest of Epstein's 27 times,” she said, adding that “many of those times Clinton had his Secret Service with him and many times he did not.”
Justice Democrats target incumbent Dems who crossed influential freshmen
July 9, 2019
The left-wing activist group that spearheaded the political rise of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now working to take down several incumbent Democrats who have defied the party's freshman progressive wing, leaving some of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's loyalists on Capitol Hill anxiously wondering if they might soon fall in the crosshairs themselves.
Justice Democrats, which was co-founded by Ocasio-Cortez chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti, has already announced it is looking to unseat seven-term pro-life Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, who represents a conservative district and has boasted about his endorsement from the National Rifle Association. Also on the list: New York Rep. Eliot Engel, the House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman who's currently in his 16th term...
The Justice Democrats are only the public face of this operation. Soros, the UN, and other globalist organizations are the real threat.
